Linkin Park telah menjadwalkan event LPU Summit selanjutnya yang akan berlangsung pada 21 Juni mendatang dan bertempat di Hamburg, Jerman. LPU Summit memberikan kesempatan kepada fans untuk berinteraksi langsung kepada Linkin Park atau para kru dibalik panggung.

LP Underground memberitahukan beberapa merchandise ekslusif terbaru yang bisa dimiliki jika Anda menjadi membership LPU. Paket merchandise ini meliputi t-shirt, artwork Mike Shinoda, dan masih banyak lagi. Anda bisa bergabung dengan LPU di sini dengan membayar $60 untuk membership selama satu tahun.

Rob melakukan chat dengan para member LPU. Dia menyebutkan bahwa shooting music video dimulai hari ini dan kemungkinan music video tersebut untuk lagu remix dari Iridescent yang digunakan sebagai soundtrack Transformers 3. Berikut poin-poinnya :

• First drum set belonged to his brother, he got fed up of playing piano so started to play they drums. Got his first kick pedal from the Aerosmith drummer, Joey Kramer.
• It’s fun to share the drumming with Brad and Chester on stage.
• To play ATS live he had to add 8/9 electronic pads to his drumkit.
• In the future he could possibly play piano on stage, if Mike was playing guitar while a piano part needed playing, but he thinks he would be too nervous to do it.
• He’s grateful for their fanbase.
• It’s the remix version of Iridescent that they are using for the video, although they may use the original Iridescent also. He seemed unsure of what was going on until this afternoon when he would be shooting more of his scenes.
• The Iridescent video will include a performance.
• Favourite drummers of all time, John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) and Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band).
•  Faint is his favourite video shoot.
• The Little Things Give You Away is a favourite Linkin Park song of his.
• He said electronic drumsets are cool because they add the ability to add textures and sounds, but he doesn’t like the feel of using them. But he recommends them for practice.
• They have 3 or 4 set lists for the European tour, and Burning In The Skies will be included.
• He says he evolved as a musician for ATS as a lot of his drum parts wasn’t fitting in with the electronic elements of the album, so he had to blend them.
• He likes coconut water.
• He mentioned that a summit will be confirmed soon, they are waiting on the logistics to be finalised.
• Favourite Linkin Park album at the minute is A Thousand Suns, but he said that at any moment in time he would say the last album is his favourite, as they fit with the moment in time they are created in.
• No plans as of yet to play in Brazil.
• He doesn’t play video games anymore, he used to be good at Halo 1.
• Relative Degree played 1 show and then finished, their goal was to sell out the Roxy so when they accomplished that goal they stopped.
• Very excited to play in Japan.
• He is looking forward to the upcoming festival run, he said he enjoys seeing and hanging out with the other bands there, he also said its a more relaxing vibe.
• Earlier in their career he said it was stressful having to set up his kit and make sure it was set up correctly so it sounded good, and then taking it apart and ensuring that parts of his kit doesn’t get stolen from the van. He prefer that now he can just focus on the performance.
• He enjoys playing live, he said the energy in LA was great, they enjoy having a good energy from the audience to bounce off of, he then mentioned looking forward to the festival shows with the audiences being so huge.

Mike melakukan chat dengan member LPU kemarin (10/03/2011).
Berikut poin-poinnya :

• Mike was sick, some of the other guys too but he’s feeling better now.
• "Official Studio Time" in a week.
• Mike talked about iPhone apps he uses for studio recording: Beatbox (I think that’s what he said), Nanostudio, and something I couldn’t quite hear, he has more on his iPod.
• Reanimation and Hybrid Theory artwork: he showed us some sketches that he found in his closet and he showed it to us. (HT solider from 2000). Frank Maddocks did a lot of work on them.
• He mentioned that he started art when he was young (3-4 years old), before he got into music, he got into piano because his mom thought it’d be good for college admissions. He ended up quitting piano lessons.
• He mentioned Fort Minor, no plans in the future.
• Robot Boy live: it’d be hard because there’s more than 15 overlayed vocals, he doesn’t know how that’d work but if they did it’d be a really stripped down version.
• He showed us some paintings behind him that he collects and one painting he did with Gary Baseman (in the picture, the pink one) and another one (blue one, screenshot below) that he did.
• No project with Skylar Grey in the future, nor with anyone else. He doesn’t really talk to Holly Brook anymore.
• He mentioned When They Come For Me on SNL, they thought it’d be a really good live song so they decided to do it on SNL. Blackout was another alternative but they had to pick one and picked WTCFM.
• He doesn’t have a favorite color.
• Favorite live song: He said he likes playing Bleed it Out but it changes often.
• He switched from Blackberry to the iPhone because everything he has is pretty much on Apple and he liked the apps and games.
• He mentioned DJ Lethal and that he doesn’t follow him so he didn’t know about the comments DJ Lethal said, if there was a fight to be had that Joe and DJ Lethal would be capable settling it on their own.
• LP are hoping to do more LPU Summits.
• Another tour after Europe with plenty of breaks for writing or “whatever”.
• Mike said he’s sorry that they didn’t hit a lot of cities in the US, they would have liked to. He said they need to hit more places, Canada in particular, Mexico as well. Then he said…that people in Europe people just hop on a plane, train, any form of transportation and go to a show. He said that the North American people should learn that… (harsh , Mike.)
• He said that they were shocked to do the roundtable discussion with the UN Secretary General, check out DownloadToDonate.Org.

• He was making up other ways to say “motherfucker” which lead to “motherfricassee”.

• After the US tour they’re going to tour in Europe and Asia, and he’s gonna put in a word for the Canadians (meaning try to get LP to go to Canada.

• And he wants people to learn the “Dream Hands” dance and flash mob it at a M&G.

• Also there will be a LPUTV released soon, it will be about the Summit in Sydney about 7 minutes long.

LPU Basketball Tournament at Local YMCA
LPU members will meet at the Irving Park YMCA to compete in the first LPU basketball tournament. All LPU members are invited including Annual, Monthly, and LPU9. You don’t need to have a pass for the LPU Summit to join us for this game.

Location: Irving Park YMCA - 4251 W Irving Park Rd Chicago, IL 60641 (Near the Irving Park Blue Line stop on the L)
Time: 12-2pm

Meet up with other LPU members at Millennium Park in downtown Chicago for a night of ice skating. All LPU members are invited including Annual, Monthly, and LPU9. You don’t need to have a pass for the LPU Summit to join us for this game. Feel free to bring a friend.
